I think right now I can start to ask my governor what he has done for us, educated youths, budding entrepreneurs with creative ideas needing capital, and skilled young artisans seeking the necessary tools for business operations... please add yours if I did not capture your class/case among the above portfolios.
The time is over boasting about what is being done for our parents by duly giving them their deserved rights (salary), the time is over bragging about paying our grandparents their entitled privilege for their tireless years of service. Now is the time to ask, what fate is ours, the youth of Oyo state to build a future we desire.
It's time to ask, not just what the plans are because we are tired of learning about unexecutable plans, but we desire to know the actions being taken to meaningfully engage young graduates, educated youths, skilled artisans, and vibrant entrepreneurial business ideas!
I'm pained to hear about Billions of Naira for bus terminus!!! Or should I say bus marts! Millions of Naira to light up dark streets when there a several entrepreneurial dreams in financial darkness. What about earmarking billions for innovative start-up grants, for social and tech hubs, and for technical and vocational hubs.
I think it's time for government to focus on investing hugely on "youth infrastructures" too. What stops us from having a skyscraper dedicated for innovative incubation hubs or conversion of fallow government structures to creative technical hubs? A wise man once said, when the vision is blurry, adjust the focus. Gracia!
Tayo Okanlawon.
