Fellowship Holier than thou scam 2

Campus Fellowship scams.

Sisters Eye service!

I remember an issue that broke out in church sometime back. A mother was pissed off by the attitude of some ladies in the students fellowship. On a fateful day, she had walked past a fellowship sister and the lady merely muttered "Good afternoon ma'am" and walked past. Coincidentally the fellowship Papa (president) walked by at the same time and the said lady knelt on both knees to greet the Papa, a fellow student like herself.

Your guess is as good as mine, a church council meeting was convened on the matter. Students regard their fellowship excos more than even their parents. There was a time when the cooler ministry reigned. Sisters would cook and take food flasks to brothers (especially excos) in the fellowship, but ask many of them to cook at home, it becomes an issue.

I never received a cooler in that ministry though. It wasn't needed anyway, we had the best cooks in our room in D5. Mehn! Tosin can cook anything, with verbal support from the Mayor and Buyus. Anyway, back to the matter. Many students see the fellowship as the pinnacle of holiness, even more than the mother churches housing/sponsoring them. Well, I wouldn't adjudge it good or bad, but only heaven is the perfect pinnacle of holiness.

How about Brothers' escort ministry?

The FREE help brothers render to sisters in the name of 'goodwill' but with some hidden 'motives'. The top of the goodwill acts is the escort ministry. A brother could escort a sister on a long journey back home after fellowships but can't move a mile for a fellow brother. People who kuku know me too well can attest to it that I'm not in the "escort ministry". I remember a day I had access to Queen Idia Hall (Unibadan female hostel) visitors register and saw the number of fellowship brothers' names on the log, I just smiled to myself. We later joked about it as "Idia-gelism".

The general hypocrisy!

The silent analysis brothers make about fellowship sisters and vice versa. Usually, the brother's analyses are usually centered around the beauty, brilliance, and warmth of a sister. But you see the sisters' analysis about Brothers' ehn, it is usually deep, deeper, deepest! Sometimes the analysis often leaks out and the discussion afterward is always epic.

I wonder what kind of analysis may have been done about me by sisters back then, mine did not leak so I have no clue what sisters felt about me. I'm sure the secret agent may have been on my analysis portfolio. Just kidding!

On a broader look, all these points mentioned above made campus fellowship fun and useful. I learned a lot from the experience. My admonition in conclusion is, to face your race solely with God. It is a marathon and not a relay race. Don't get distracted by fellowship irrelevancies but be strengthened by the strong spiritual fellowship bond. Cheers!

U.I Awo Hall Executives (Team Standard 2018) Cleared of Alleged Misappropriation of Funds

The two-year war that raged between the executive members (2018/19) of the Obafemi Awolowo hall (Awo Hall) University of Ibadan and the allegations laid against them by their Hall Warden has been settled, with the executive members exonerated of all charges.  It was gathered that the excos had been alleged of misappropriation of funds and lack of accountability by the hall warden Dr. Mrs. Adedoyin Aguoru, which led to the dissolution of the executive body and a taint on the personalities of the executive members. In a joint letter signed by the president and made public by the executive members, it was made clear the proceedings from the investigation and the eventual acquital verdict given by the Students Affairs Division of the University. Below is the content of the letter:    Re: Misappropriation of Funds and Lack of Accountability   This is an avenue to state in clear terms the true state of affairs during our tenure as Hall Executives other than allowing the earlier false impres

Insecurity in Oyo State: Towards a safer Oyo State.

Blame game/Opposition game A wise man once said, "When you keep blaming others for every situation you're in, someday you’ll begin to look like you’re the mistake all along". This holds true of our politicians in Nigeria. When a new government spend a good portion of its administration to point fingers on the failures or bad gimmicks of the old/displaced government instead of thinking outside the box to proffer solutions to the dilemma at hand, soon they will start to appear incompetent and an excuse seeker. Blame game has been a sad trend in our polity in this country. The APC government at the federal level elected in 2015 spent their entire first term blaming the deposed PDP government for insurgency and insecurity. Yeah, this state of insecurity ended the PDP reign of 16 years and the same is about to end the APC reign because they've also failed to keep the nation secured. They are now a victim of the situation that brought them to be. I hope this same trend  won
